Am back at work, and therefore slightly frantic, but otherwise OK. Still, it means my LJ posting will go back up to its usual frequency. My back hurts from so much sleeping in strange beds, so I'll be going to the gym tonight to try to get back to regular exercise.

I've now booked my annual leave for Whitby which makes me feel a lot better. I'm looking forward to it, especially in some ways the days of chilling on either side of the madness. I'm going to be there from Wednesday to Wednesday - what touristy things can I do?

One feature I'd really like from LJ would be the ability to search my entries according to which friends filter they're visible to - that way I'd know if it was safe to add someone to a particular filter...

Things to do, mainly for my own benefit
  • Book train to Whitby
  • Get B&B stuff to hughe
  • Get a bookcase
  • Get my hair dyed
  • Get tickets for Covenant

Apparently, Whitby is the Crouch End of the North (according to a rather strange Guardian feature yonks back) (or is it Scarborough, I don't know, it's all the wrong side of the mountains), so I suggest that you spend a lot of time walking about with mobile phone clamped betwixt ear and gob, talking loudly and annoying the yokelslocals. And I hear there is a nice chip shop. So eat chips. Chips are good. I want chips now.

And wine.

Chips and wine.

Gosh, aren't I helpful? I am, of course, not going to this "Whitby" of which you speak (I thought kitty_goth was going to hyperventilate at the thought of it last night, and had to pat his knee to calm him down).

I'm finding that Pilates seems to be working really well for avoiding/reducing random aches and pains. Of course, it could just be doing exercise in general since this is the first time I've done any real amount of it in years, but I'm prepared to believe the Pilates is rather effective.

Apart from anything else, I'm conscious of my posture improving (Look Ma! I'm not slouching just now!), which can only be a good thing. On the downside, I feel taller. I was tall enough already, thank you.

wechsler has written something that makes your LJ entries searchable - I wonder if he could implement this feature too?
