Yes, I'm feeling much better today, thanks for asking. Just posted the cheque for the corset and I am actually looking forward to receiving it - just a little nervous as it's my first ebay purchase...

A few random queries:-

  1. Can anyone remember the full explanation of the 'someone likes you' scam for mister_ed?
  2. I'm still looking for a website containing excuses to celebrate every day of the year - I'm sure it used to exist.
  3. What's a good and cheapish place for lunch at the west end of Princes Street? It has to have good veggie options (and Halal would be great but unlikely).
  4. Does anyone know where I can get Chinese silk like this, in the UK. Or anything with the longevity symbol, preferably in red or purple?

A Room in the West End is good, not cheap but cheapish. It's below Teuchars on William Street South

The one I remember was crushlink or similar - in order to get a response from it, you had to give it the contents of your address book (plus permission to spam everyone in it!) It would then send 'someone likes you' to everyone in it. Repeat until you have a large enough marketing database to sell.

Hello,

Glad you're feeling better today.

Don't worry too much about eBay. Just because I'm going through very stupid woman trauma, it's not really the par for the course for the service.

You're buying from Madame le Goth, IIRC? I've never bought from her, but I've seen her auctions pretty much ever since starting to use eBay. You should be fine, she appears to be a professional.

It's nothing like the brocade, but I assume you've seen the pretty Chinese brocade in Edinburgh Fabrics? I was in there looking for PVC (which they have), and noticed it. It's the traditional flowers type pattern IIRC.

Blimey. I didn't know that. Cheers for the info. I have enough problem as it is avoiding Nestle-owned brands.

Re: !
Yeah, they took a 30% share, I think, a year or two back. I gather burgers are falling in popularity for some strange reason, and they felt the need to diversify.
